Deborah Sechler brings more than three decades of progressive financial leadership experience to her role as Chief Financial Officer. Her career spans the full spectrum of accounting and finance operations, with deep expertise in small and mid-sized business environments where she has consistently served as the financial backbone of growing organizations. At Athena Oncology, Deborah oversees the organization’s financial operations and provides the financial insight and discipline that support its continued growth.
She launched her career partnering with entrepreneurs and owner-operators, building the kind of hands-on, end-to-end accounting expertise that only comes from managing every aspect of a company’s financial operations. From skilled trades to specialty services, she developed a reputation for bringing structure, accuracy, and strategic insight to businesses navigating growth and complexity.
She went on to lead the complete accounting and bookkeeping operations for a thriving veterinary practice, where she served as the sole financial steward through a period of significant expansion. Under her financial leadership, the organization scaled its operations, strengthened its reporting infrastructure, and ultimately positioned itself for a successful acquisition by a private equity firm—a milestone that reflected both the company’s growth and the financial discipline she helped instill.
In her free time, Deborah enjoys traveling, especially on cruise ships. She also cherishes time with her family and 8-year-old grandson.
